1.3. The Data File

As for your data file, it will usually consist of a number of entries. Each of them in turn consists of a series of markers and their values. A typical entry in a data file will look like the following, of course in your project you might be using different markers, see Figure 1.7:

Importantly, this flat text version of your lexicon, does not show the underlying hierarchy, which we have been able to see in the Toolbox project. The data file only records the information about the markers used in a particular entry and their values. LEXUS will make use of this file during the import process, therefore it is important that it is consistent with the typ. file.
