5.4.9. Add New Participant

ELAN offers the possibility to create a new set of tiers for a new participant based on an already existing set of tiers. To add a new participant click on . The following Add new participant dialog window appears:
The new set of tiers for the new participant is either based on an existing tier with all its depending tiers or on all tiers with a specific participant attribute. Enter the name for the new participant in the appropriate field. Then, specify whether the suffix or prefix of the selected tier to be changed. Finally, enter the selected tier value you want to replace and the new value for the replacement. The latter will replace the prefix or suffix (it depends on the choice you have made) of the existing tiers and the participant attribute will be set to the new participant.
