Added .xml Extension

Posted by Bob at 2012-01-24 15:58

I emailed myself an Elan templare (.etf file) and when I downloaded it later on another computer it had an added .xml extension (thus filename.esf.xml) and no longer works as a template.
Has anyone had any experience with this? Is it an Elan issue, or something with my email?
Thanks.

This is probably an issue/feature of the mail client. The template file is indeed an xml file but doesn't need an extra extension. You can simply remove the .xml part from the file name in the Windows Explorer or the Finder or any other file manager.
You could also zip the file before sending it by mail.

Thanks Han, I've deleted the .xml bit in finder, but the template still wont work properly. Actually, it's not selectable in the directory where you add the media and template files at the start of a new Elan document. I will zip it next time. cheers.
