Windows 7 64 bit
Hello,
I have Windows 7 and ELAN does not seem to work from that operating system. I have looked at other posts and a specific thread talks of this; however, it is over 2 years old and I have recently put a post on there but no-one is answering that question.
I ask "has anything been done to make ELAN Windows 7 64 Bit?"
I hope someone will answer this and I also hope ELAN has been made Windows 7 Compatiable.

First of all, apologies for having missed your previous post (and those of others). The main reason for this is that out forum software is not working correctly, we don't receive a message when new posts have been submitted which makes it difficult to keep track of replies to, especially, older messages.
Having said that, there doesn't seem to be a general problem with ELAN on Windows 7, 64 bit. I have such a system myself (nowadays) and ELAN runs fine. By now in our institute several of such configurations are running ELAN.
Unfortunately the logs that have been added to previous posts never contained any messages about loading a media file (maybe because the program never got to that stage).
If a hs_err_pidxxxx.log is created it could be helpful to have it. Please send it to:

I'm also having problems w' my ELAN on Windows 7, 64 bit installation. I've been running it fine on my Windows XP machine. I just installed it on my new machine and I can't initialize anything. I've tried opening older ELAN .eaf files that I was working on before and it gets stuck at initialization. I've tried creating new files and it gets stuck at initialization.
No error logs, it never gets that far. Just endless blank screen w' 'initializing' message at the top of the screen.
