Play Selection not working - ELAN 4.0 Mac OS 10.6.6
I have been running ELAN for several years now and am having a new problem.<br><br>I am running a video in ELAN with just the default tier. I have made a few annotations on that tier. I can select an annotation but when I push the PLAY SELECTION button it will not play the video. <br><br>This does not happen on all annotations, just most of them. I'm trying to find a pattern, but so far I have not.<br><br>The video files are either .mov or .m4v. It happens in both.<br><br>Any thoughts as to why this might be happening?<br><br>-Jason<br>

Difficult to say, we couldn't reproduce the problem on a Mac 10.6.4 system with regular mpeg-1 files. One possible cause could be the encoding of the media files. But maybe you used the same files in previous versions of ELAN on previous versions of the OS without the same problems? Do the same problems occur with e.g. regular mpeg 1 files?

I'm encountering this same problem occasionally (Mac OS 10.6.7). There seems to be no pattern to it, sometimes the Play Selection works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it acts like the Play button. I have noticed that when I click Play Selection and it doesn't work, then when I click again, the playing pauses, and then clicking again, the Play Selection works. There must be something in the video, as I'm using .m4v as well. I haven't tried using the short key for Play Selection.

Hello, I have simular problems with "play selection". I'm using mac OS 10.6.7 with ELAN 3.9.1. My video format is AVI. I'm working with ELAN for one year now and two days ago this malfunction started to show. Are there any clues? Do you need more info on my system setup? Thanks.
