losing annotations when merging

Posted by Xtine at 2010-08-30 13:54

Hi,

I have two logfiles (csv), each one holding several tiers with data, one etf with extra tiers that are empty and should be used for annotation, and a video file.

I have tried the following:

new file
select video, audio and etf
save as tmp1.eaf

import first csv,
save as tmp2.eaf

import second csv
save as tmp3.eaf

open tmp2.eaf
merge with tmp3.eaf
save as tmp4.eaf

open tmp1.eaf (video + emty tiers)
merge with tmp4.eaf (first + second csv)
save as vp1.eaf

now I have the video and all tiers but some tiers are empty while they had up to 200 entries before merging and others have lost 2 third of the entries.

Any idea what's going wrong?

Thanks
found out myself: annotations can not be of length 0.
As it happens, I have logged several events with equal start and end time. Although it is possible to import these when merging with another file those entries are lost.
Yes, annotations are supposed to have a non-zero duration. This sounds like there is a bug in the import from csv function. We will check this.
