Mac "no player could be created for"
Hi, I'm having trouble opening a file. I created and annotated the file, then sent it to another user who made more annotations and then emailed it back to me. Now when I try to open the file it opens, but with no tiers or annotations. Nothing. It doesn't prompt me to find the media files, just comes up with a "no player could be created for..." message. Can you help me at all?
Many thanks

Re: Mac "no player could be created for"
What follows the message of "Can't create player etc." is that the correct path to a media file?
You can send me the eaf file, maybe I can find something (Han.Sloetjes AT mpi.nl)?

Re: Mac "no player could be created for"
Hi Han,
Sorry for the delayed reply - I'll describe the problem again since I think it's now different to what I described above.
I think the issue I am having is to do with playing .mpeg files. When I try to open a file I was working on on another mac, it comes up with a 'no player could be created for [the .mpeg file I'm using]'. The path to the file is correct. I am using two media files with this document - an .mpeg and a .wav file. When I press ok in response the the error message, the file opens but with no sound or video, and I can't navigate forward or backward in time within the document (as distinct from in real life where I seem to inevitably move forward in time, thought I should clarify that ;-)).
This issue also happens ('No player could be created for [the .mpeg file I'm using] when I try to create a new file, using an .mpeg and a .wav file as my media.
The issue always happens on this particular mac, so I presume it's just a plug-in or something I need, but I can't work out what.
Hope you can help.
Thanks
