Could you be a bit more specific on what exactly doesn't work? Wrong tier hierarchies, misalignments?

Dear Han,

Actually, it did not show either wrong tier hierarchies or misalignments. It was always 'Import did not succeed. Unknown error' when I chose either shoesbox/toolbox type file or set all markers. Could you please tell me why a text.type doesn't work but the set markers file does?
However, now it worked out when I chose first toolbox file, then set markers and the default duration time (maybe last time the duration was too short).

Now I encountered another problem with audio waveform and the annotations. They are not matched together. Is there any way to fix this? could I expand the duration of a single time-alignment? for example from 1ms to 1.5ms without effecting to its next time-alignment?

Thank you for your help.
Tam

It could be that the information from the .typ file doesn't match the setup of the markers in the text file? The only way to really know is if you send me both the .typ and the .txt file so that I can reproduce.

If there is no (recognizable) time information in the Toolbox file all the annotations (records) get the same duration and are therefore not correctly aligned to the .wav file. Each annotation will have to be aligned individually to the media. Several approaches are possible: move all the annotations to the right of the one you wish to align to the right using Annotation->Shift->Annotations on All Tiers, Right of The Crosshair. Alternatively switch to Bulldozer Mode in the Options->Propagate Time Changes menu. If then the duration of a single annotation is extended, all annotations next to it move to the right.

Shift Annotations

Posted by tnguyen8 at 2010-06-29 03:13

Dear Han,

I tried to shift annotations as you directed. However, I am asked to enter milliseconds between two numbers: one smaller than zero and the other bigger. I tried to put milliseconds between the annotations I want to shift, but it did not work. Maybe I enter the wrong numbers?. Also, If I used the alternative (to Bulldozer mode), nothing happened even though in help content, it is said that there will be a checkmark appear and disappear after checking this mode. Am I missing something?

Thanks,
Tam

The shifting of annotations only works for annotations that are completely to the right of the crosshair. Could it be that there is only one annotation on one toplevel tier and that that annotation is not fully to the right of the crosshair?
That the Bulldozer mode radio button is not checked after selecting it, I cannot explain. This seems to indicate that something went wrong before that switch of mode.
