Re: Re: Export to FLEx
I'm no expert at this, but FLEx can import XML files of the same format as those that it export, i.e. if I export an interlinear text from FLEx another FLEx user can import it (or it can be imported in to e.g. ELAN). You would loose the time alignment at such an export, but if you've used ELAN to transcribe a recorded text, it would still be very useful to be able to import the transcribed text together with e.g. word glosses, free translation and notes. I would leave the morphology to FLEx. If I had the possibility of importing texts from ELAN to FLEx, I would first export a text from FLEx in order to make a template with the right tiers, tier names and structure.<br><br>Viggo<br>
Re: Re: Re: Export to FLEx
In that case we might consider adding an export to FLEx function as well. For ELAN transcriptions that are the result of an import from FLEx that would be relatively straightforward; the FLEx elements and attributes could be reconstructed based on the tier names. One problem may be the word elements of type "punct", they are now added to the "txt" word items and it may not be possible to extract them correctly.
It will be a bigger problem to implement a generic export to FLEx, the mapping from ELAN tiers to FLEx elements is likely not straightforward at all.
