Re: Bug in 3.8.0 for Mac
This is weird indeed; it has likely a result of changes in the media player for the Mac between 3.7.2 and 3.8.0. It is strange that the problem does not occur with similar files. Maybe you can add some more details (OS version, QuickTime version, and in ELAN: Cocoa QT or QuickTime for Java). Please, also read my comments to this post:

Re: Re: Bug in 3.8.0 for Mac
Let's see... I'm using MacOS 10.5.8, and Quick Time Player 7.6.2 (and I don't have a clue as to whether it's Cocoa... or not ;-) It's the pixel forward and pixel back function that refuses to work in 3.8.0 but works fine in 3.7.2-1 with the same annotation file and .move-film.

Re: Re: Re: Bug in 3.8.0 for Mac
If you rightclick a video and select "Player Info" you can see what player is used. To change the preferred player you can go to Edit -> Preferences -> Edit Preferences -> Platform/OS and select a media framework.
I have no further information on the pixel for/backward problem yet.

Bug in 3.8.0 for Mac
Han,
When I right click on the videos, the player info says I'm using the Cocoa QT Player framework no matter which framework I select in the preferences (currently QuickTime for Java).
The videos have been compressed in .mov format using QuickTime Pro. Using Get Info in QT says they're of H.264, 640 x 480, Millions; AAC, Stereo (L R), 48.000 kHz format at 25 fps. Normal size 640 x 480.
I'm running Mac 10.6.2 with QT 10.0 and QT 7.6.3 (Snow Leopard dual installation), although I was having the same issue before I upgraded from 10.5.x.
Re: Bug in 3.8.0 for Mac
I've got a group of people using both 3.8.0 and 3.8.1 on Mac computers (using Snow Leopard and the latest QT version) and a lot of them are reporting problems with the pixel forward and backward buttons. I've tried on my own computer and don't see a problem until I use the 500 and 1000 zoom. At that level, I'm only able to use the pixel backward button and not the forward one.
What zoom settings are you guys using?
