Keyboard commands stopped functioning

Posted by Jarkko at 2008-12-08 21:17

Vista Business 32-bit. Can't remember any changes been made to the system, worked so far on the same machine/setup like a charm.

Any ideas where could i start looking for the fix?

Not being able to control the media from the keyboard (ctrl+spacebar etc.) makes annotating very slow.

Just noticed, that when using mouse to e.g. control transport, ELAN seems to remember the last click and assign it to the spacebar...

I have no idea, to be honest. On first sight one might think of a change in the selected Keyboard or a change in the "input language". But combinations like Ctrl+Space should be (input) language independent.
What ELAN in any case doesn't do, is assigning a mouse click (or its media position) to the spacebar. That must a side effect of something else going wrong.

Thanks, Han!

I'll keep on testing and trying to come up with new stuff to help solving the problem. At the moment coding isn't happening changing the input language doesn't have any effect on the symptoms.

And yes, spacebar still gets assigned to whatever button clicked the last using mouse. Just noticed that also, that clearing the selection stops playback... phhhh...
