Problems importing .trs files
I'm triying to import a Transcriber file (.trs) following the instructions given in the manual, but unfortunately I can't seem to make it work.
I locate the .trs file via the relevant import menu in Elan, choose the first import option "create a separate tier for each speaker", and then click OK. Elan responds by "initializing" for a few seconds and then nothing happens. The process of 'initializing' apparently stops but no text seems to have been imported from the .trs file, and I'm not asked to locate the associated sound file. What am I doing wrong?
I'm running v 3.4.0 (Win)
Re: Problems importing .trs files
It might well be that the importer encounters something unexpected. There maybe some error message in the log file. (After trying to import, quit ELAN and inspect <user_home>\.elan_data\elan0.log). You can post it here and/or send the log file and possibly the .trs file to me.
The .trs file might be helpful anyway in case we need to fix the import function.

Re: Re: Problems importing .trs files
Hi Han
Thanks for your quick response. Luckily, the problem is solved!
After I posted my question, I noticed that Elan gave the full path of the .trs file in the upper left corner, and looking at that path suddenly made me realize that my way of organizing files in folders named after the number of the recording session, i.e. #001, #002 etc., was probably not a very good idea. And indeed it wasn't: the hash in the folder name was the culprit! When copied to a new folder the .trs file loaded in Elan without any further ado...
Thanks for a great tool - and very efficient support!
