unable to open selection in praat
Hi - When i try to open a selection in Praat (or clip a selection with Praat), Praat starts but does not open the file and displays the following error message:
Cannot open file "C:\Praat\Message.txt".
Script "C:\Praat\Message.txt" not completed. Praat:message not completely handled".
Any suggestions?

It could be that Praat tries to load an error message from a Message.txt file, which fails? In that case the message could be 'hiding' the real problem (what happens if you create a Message.txt file with some random text?).
In anyway, ELAN never asks Praat to run a Message.txt script.
When Praat and sendpraat.exe are installed and ELAN is informed about their location, ELAN first tries to launch Praat and then requests it to open or clip a selection by running one of the .praat scripts in <user_home>\.elan_data.
After installation of a new version of Praat (or in case of obscure problems) it might be worth to delete the praat.pfs file in the fore mentioned directory. ELAN will then prompt you to locate Praat and sendpraat again.

Hi- I work on a macbook with OSX Tiger. I can't open a selection in Praat. The problem seems to be the location of the sendpraat executable. When I click on "open selection in Praat, Praat is launched (V. 4.6.33) but Elan ask me repeatedly to "locate the sendpraat executable. Any Idea what happens?
