Can't open files_initializing

Suddenly the file that I was working on started working very slowly and the video didn't play correctly. I tried installing ELAN again but nothing changed. I tried installing Quick Time's latest version and now no files will open, it says initializing...and it stays that way. Any ideas?

Is this on Windows or Mac? There are several reports on problems with QuickTime 7.2, on both systems. Mostly problems with the QTJava library (incorrect version or not accessible).

Unclear why prior to the update the file became slow. There may be error messages in the log file (<user_home>/.elan_data/elan0.log)? Maybe something is wrong with the .eaf file, you may send it to me for inspection, if you wish.

Hi,

I am working on Windows. When it still was possible to open files I tried many and they all had problems playing the video. Now it never stops "initializing" so I am not able to try much...what do you recommend?
