Hi,
I have used 4.0.1 before w' mp4 files that I converted using Any Video Converter (x264 codec, mp3 audio). I can still open my old .eaf files that open those video files.
However I have a batch of new video that I've been trying to convert and open in Elan 4.0.1 and also I've tried 4.1.2, but I keep getting "No player could be created for: (file name)" .
I read something in the forum about a video bit rate for Elan that is better around 4000, so I changed that, and tried to load the mp4, but then there was a much longer initializing wait in 4.0, and complete stall at initializing in 4.1.
I've also tried converting to .avi, and then I get only the audio, and no video.
Is it an mp4 codec problem, bitrate problem, video format problem, java problem?
Help!
Thanks,
Helen

Okay, resolved my problem-

it was the audio format- when I converted my video to mp4, I changed the audio from mp3 to aac, and now I'm able to open my mp4 file in 4.1!

-helen
