Problems with References to Graphics Allowed
Hello, I have ticked the box "references to graphic allowed" looking for an option of anotation on top of CV's, but after doing this I realized I shouldn't have! Now I can't open the file & I'm afraid I have lost my work. Any one knows how could I rescue the file? Any help will be very much appreciated! Thanks. <br>
Re: Problems with References to Graphics Allowed
Yes, that is/was a quite experimental feature that was depending on QuickTime features that maybe don't work anymore. Maybe we should remove that option altogether.
Anyway, your annotations shouldn't be lost, the problem is probably just the creation of a media player when you try to open the file.
If you send me the eaf file(s) I can see if I can remove some attributes in a text editor so that the file(s) can be opened in ELAN again: han.sloetjes AT mpi.nl

Re: Re: Problems with References to Graphics Allowed
Thanks a Lot! Exactly, I can't open the file but it is saved. I will email it to you. Do you know how can I add the option of transcribin alongside a CV? I have created CV's for all my tiers (which are my coding scheme) but I also need to transcribe the dialogue of the videos after inserting the CV and it doesn't give me the option. <br>Thanks again!<br>Daniela.<br>
Re: Re: Re: Problems with References to Graphics Allowed
Hi Han, now that I was attaching you the file I realized that ELAN created a separate file for it with the format .svg so I deleted that from the folder. Then I tried opening it again and ELAN openened a window asking me where was the file .svg and I changed the option to "all the files" and I could open the .eaf file now! Crazy :) However every time I try to open the file the same dialogue box asking for the .svg file. It is just bothering, but now I know the data is not lost. I will send it to you anyways maybe you can explore how to take that characteristic out. Thanks.<br>So now I'm left with the problem of not being able to enter any other annotation but the CV's on the tier. Hope you can also help me with that. <br>Best,<br>Daniela. <br>
Re: Re: Re: Re: Problems with References to Graphics Allowed
I've permanently removed the link to the svg file as well as the "graphics allowed" attribute from a few linguistic types in your file. It should work normally again.
I tried to answer your question concerning CV's in my reply to your follow up message.
