Hello,
I am working with CHAT transcription, CLAN and ELAn for the first time. I do have all the manuals and am reading through them. However there are many hiccups along the way. Is there a "how to" guide/website that would be helpful in understanding the process?

There is no separate how-to for CHAT import or export, there are only the chapters in the ELAN manual (http://www.lat-mpi.eu/tools/elan/manual/ch04s02s17.html).
But it depends a bit how you are starting: if you already have .cha files, the best way to convert them to ELAN's .eaf format is by using the "chat2elan" command in the CLAN tools. I don't know if there is a how-to guide for this CLAN command.
Did you already try this command and if so, what is the main problem you run into?
