Centralized Template

Posted by MZeppelzauer at 2011-02-10 09:59

Hi, I am new to Elan and have the following question:

Elan usually copies the template (tier definition etc.) into its eaf files. That makes it difficult to control the content of a template in a centralized way. Is it possible to store the template in an extra file and just include a link to the template file in the eaf files?

Currently not, but this is on the wish list. Or at least to maintain a link to the template so that consistency can be checked.
The advantage of having all the tier definitions etc. in the eaf file itself is that the file can be processed independently, without needing access to an external template file.
