Keyboard Shortcuts lock Elan up

All media navigation KB shortcuts make the Elan system fail.
(Windows XP & 7, Mac OS/X 10.6.5, Elan 3.8.1 & 3.9.1)
Please help

Navigation by mouse clicks in the timeline or by dragging the mouse, does that work?
In the case of the Windows variants I could imagine that it was again a matter of codecs, but MacOS?
No clue. The log file might contain information after the application hangs? (On Mac the log file is here: <user_home>/Library/Preferences/ELAN/elan0.log)
