ELAN 3.9.1 selections disappear

I just upgraded to ELAN 3.9.1 for Mac OS. When making a selection, they sometimes disappear before I could add an annotation or extend/decrease the selection.

I've not been able to reproduce the problem so far. Is this while working with the mouse (dragging to select a segment, shift-clicking to extend etc.) or also when mainly working with the keyboard?
