I am a new user of ELAN, so I was wondering if somebody can help me with the following basic question. I have some .wav files and an already existing transcription in the form of a .txt (with tabs). How can I directly merge the audio file with the existing transcription? Should I first introduce markers? How does this work? <br>Thanks in advance, <br><br>Anne <br>

I think the best way is tho use the menu "File->Import->CSV/Tab-delimited text file" to import the annotations from the text file into a new ELAN annotation file. Next use the menu "Edit->Linked Files", tab Linked Media Files, to add the .wav file. Then save the whole setup as an .eaf file.
