Elan 3.6 and website
Yesterday (August 22), Elan 3.6 stopped working on all of my lab computers. It would create new files but would hang on the "initializing" screen when opening an existing file. I went to the Elan forums for help and noticed that the website was down. Next, I found that Elan 3.6 would run fine if I disconnected the computer from the internet. Now that your site is back up, Elan 3.6 is running again on all my lab computers. Does Elan 3.6 attempt to connect to your website when opening files? If so, why?

Elan 3.9 worked fine throughout this time but we are waiting for a resolution of the output file (tab-delimited text) carriage return issue before we migrate to it.

Thanks,
Mike
Re: Elan 3.6 and website
In the meantime (apologies for the delayed replies) ELAN version 3.9.1 has been released, in which the problem with tab-delimited text export should be fixed.
As for version 3.6 (and maybe some other versions as well) the problem is likely that ELAN tries to read the XML schema file which is available on the MPI website. It is also included in the ELAN installation, but maybe this (reading the schema from the web) was a bug in that particular version of ELAN.
