The implementation of this feature (drawing graphics on top of the video) was based on QuickTime "Tracks" (using the QuickTime for Java API). It is now more likely that this doesn't work than that it does. So, it is best to say that the 2D annotation feature isn't functional right now. Maybe a new implementation of drawing graphics on top of video will revive this function in the future.
There is currently no support for simple graphics display below the annotation text. (What kind of graphics are you thinking of?)

I'm thinking of simple shapes (basically lines) - maybe using SVG - to show a graph of body movements for sign language documentation.What kind of graphics are you thinking of?) -Han
