Problem:
We are working in Germany and transcribing in English. We set the language of the tiers as English, which meant that each time we transcribe a new annotation element the keyboard pops up in the top left-hand corner.
Here is a workaround to stop the keyboard from appearing in this case:
In the file "ELAN.lax" we replace at line 71 or therabout
lax.nl.java.option.additional=-D
with
lax.nl.java.option.additional=-Duser.language=en -Duser.country= -Duser.variant=ASCII -D
