modify annotation time

Posted by zhuangyu at 2009-08-06 18:11

Hi Han,

I tried to modify annotation time using the method you showed me but it did not work. I can not move annotation or modify annotation time.  The text imported from Toolbox is distributed equally in the whole time line viewer. I don't know where I made mistatkes.  The text imported from Toolbox only includes fields id, ref, tx, mb, ge, and ps. Elan shows the tier id is the parent tier of tier ref which is the parent tier of tier tx, and which is parent tier of tier mb, and tier mb is the parent tier of tier ge and ps. Their Linguistic type stereotype are all time subdivision except id.  Thank you very much for your help.

Best,

Zhuangyu

Normally, if you select an annotation on e.g. the "id" tier by clicking on it, it will become "active". The selection (light blue) will be set to the interval of the annotation. If you change the selected interval without deactivating the annotation (e.g. by dragging with the mouse) and then press Ctrl+Enter (=Modify Annotation Time), the active annotation will be moved to the new selection interval. The same applies to e.g annotation on the ref tier, with this restriction that the annotations on the ref tier always stay inside the interval of the parent annotation on the id tier.
By the way, how many annotations are there on the "id" tier? Maybe you want to exclude that tier from the import and have "ref" as the toplevel tier?
