How to move the text to correct locaton quickly

Posted by zhuangyu at 2009-08-05 21:47

I imported text from Toobox into ELAN and linked the WMV and WAV to the text file. When I played the media, I found text did not correctly lie in proper location according to WAV file and sound. I want to know how to quickly move the text to proper location. Thanks for help.

Was there already time information in the Toolbox file? In that case it maybe a matter of using the menu Annotation -> Shift All Annotations to align all annotations with the media. If not, you'll have to align annotations one-by-one by using the Options->Propagate Time Changes -> Shift Mode (or Bulldozer Mode). If you align an annotation, all annotations to the right will be shifted "to the right". Or you can place the cursor left of the annotation to align and choose Annotation->Shift-> Annotations on All Tiers, Right of the Crosshair... and then enter the amount of milliseconds to get the first annotation at the right position. The manual contains more information on how to adjust the time alignment of an annotation.
