viewers move independently

Posted by lmtoconnor at 2009-07-22 15:05

Hello,

In the middle of a work session, the waveform viewer and timeline viewer became independent. I've been moving both, together, by holding down the Alt key and pulling backwards or forwards on the timebar at the top of the waveform. Now, this action only moves the waveform viewer. To keep things in synch, I have to do the same procedure with the top line of the timeline viewer.

The only thing I can think of that may have caused the problem is that I tried to copy a series of annotations by selecting them in the Grid viewer and then clicking on Copy Annotation Group. (Yes, now I know I misunderstood the meaning of 'group'.) At any rate, I uninstalled and re-installed ELAN, but the problem of uncoordinated movement is still there, and if I click on Paste Annotation Here or Paste Annotation Group Here, the first in the series of my former 'group' gets pasted in.

How do I restore the coordinated movement of waveform viewer and timeline viewer, and how do I clear the copied annotation(s) buffer?

Thanks,
Loretta
In the right mouse button popup menu there is a checkbox menu item "Connected".
Could it be that this option has accidentally been deselected? If this one is ticked, the waveform and timeline viewer should "move together".
Copying and pasting annotations should have nothing to do with this. The copied annotations buffer is cleared the moment you copy another annotation (or the moment you copy anything else to the clipboard).
