Using for Behavioral Coding
Hi,
I am working on coding video for various physical behaviors. Another behaviorist recommended ELAN to me, but I am having problems with annotations. Am I missing a step somewhere or perhaps completely misunderstanding how the program works? I've gone over the manual a few times and the answer hasn't appeared to me just yet.
My goal is to have the video play (single video) and while it is running, and enter a code for the behavior currently being performed. Then at the end I want to analyze the behaviors that were noted (time, quantity, etc).
I was able to enter annotations, but they erase themselves if I try and put a second one too close to another... Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you very much,
~Kim~
Re: Using for Behavioral Coding
This is weird, if I understand the situation correctly.
Normally, if you have an existing annotation you must be able to add others close to it without problems. If you create an annotation partially on top of an existing annotation, the existing annotation will be adjusted such that it ends (or begins) exactly at the time the new annotation begins (or ends). Only when you create a new annotation completely covering an existing one, the existing annotation will be deleted.
Maybe you can describe the situation in more detail, or send a screenshot (han.sloetjes AT mpi.nl)?
