transporting tiers from file to file

Hello! Is it possible to transport an entire tier from a file to another, keeping the format? Thank you very much!

That should be possible. It depends on what you exactly want to transfer:

- the tier without annotations: with the destination file open, select Tier -> Import Tiers and browse to the file containing the tier

- tier with annotations: with the destination file open, select File -> Merge Transcriptions and select the file containing the tier as the second source file. The next window allows you to select which tiers to import.

Hey, I would like to import a tier _with_ annotations into a richly annotated eaf that is synchronized with a linked secondary file (timeseries data). Because of these synchronizations I first would have preferred your first suggestion:

- the tier without annotations: with the destination file open, select Tier -> Import Tiers and browse to the file containing the tier
but after that the annotations in the imported tier are gone (understandably). But if I try to use your second suggestion:
- tier with annotations: with the destination file open, select File -> Merge Transcriptions and select the file containing the tier as the second source file. The next window allows you to select which tiers to import.
the annotations are indeed in the new file but the timeseriers data is not shown any more since the linked file (csv), the configured tracks and everything inclusive the synchronization of the timeseries data with the video seem to disappear. I would appreciate the possibility to _import_ a tier also _with_ annotations into an existing .eaf file if you could provide such a possibilty to "import tiers". Thanks for your kind interest, ~ad
