Problems with synchronization pc->mac

Posted by emilee_moore at 2009-04-06 13:17

Hi,

I have been using ELAN on a PC (version 3.7.2). My transcriptions all include a .wav file and a .mov file. The audio and video come from different sources and were synchronised.

I have just bought a mac (max os 10.5 Leopard). I downloaded ELAN 3.7.2. When I open my transcriptions, the synchronisation has changed. When I go to the synchronisation mode to fix it, I can't hear the audio from either the video or the audio.

Please help!

Thanks, Emilee.

First of all: in what sense did the synchronization change? Hopefully the difference is not too great?

I managed to get the same behaviour in the Synchronization mode, no sound, but also several times there was sound! Do you consistently have no sound in Sync mode, in multiple attempts?
Anyway, I'll try to find out why there is no sound, at least sometimes.
If you can't get sound at all in sync mode, you might want to switch (temporarily) to the QuickTime for Java player (see message "Switching between Cocoa/QT and QuickTime for Java on Mac OS X") and then synchronize.
