Problem with playing a video with Elan

Posted by Annika at 2009-02-17 11:00

I have a problem using Elan:
I copied several videos from a DVD on my computer. Playing them with VLC is no problem. But if i want to open a new project with Elan, the programm starts initializing - and that's it. Nothing else happens.
(I use Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 on a Pentium M System)
What can I do?

Thanks a lot!

What is the format or the file type of the media files? ELAN, by default, uses the Windows Media Player (or actually the underlying Direct Show) to handle the files. In general, files that can be played by WMP, can be used within ELAN. ELAN doesn't have a possibility to use VLC player for media handling (yet). So, you might have to convert the media files or maybe you can install a codec that enables WMP to handle the files.
