on-the-fly segmentation PLUS labeling?

Posted by Kitty at 2008-11-03 14:29

Hi,

I really like the on-the-fly segmentation option. I was wondering whether it is possible to do on-the-fly segmentation plus labeling? In other words, is it possible to label simple events (in the simplest case they have a fixed duration) on-the-fly? So for example, the first keystroke would indicate the start of a boundary, the second keystroke would indicate the label (for which you can define your own keystrokes..).

Kind regards,

Kitty

This is currently not possible, but what we could do is extend the Controlled Vocabularies with an option to specify a keystroke for each entry. In segmentation mode (when creating segments for a tier that has a vocabulary associated with it) these keystrokes could be used to create segments and labels with a single keystroke (or two keystrokes).
This is on the wish list, but I cannot sketch a time frame.
