JMF-player not found

Posted by Stefan at 2008-09-05 11:55

Hi.

I´ve read other questions about the same problem but I haven´t succeded in solving it. I´m using ELAN 3.6.0 under Linux Ubuntu. My log-file says "Fobs4JMF - Native shared library NOT found". Can anyone please help me? I am not that skilled in editing scripts or using the terminal although I have som basic knowledge.

Regards

-Stefan

I don't quite understand why there are messages in the log file indicating that a QuickTime based player is being used. That seems odd, on Linux. What kind of media files do you have?

It doesn´t matter which file I use. I´ve tried .mov, .avi and .eaf.

I´ve tried all possible alternatives in installing ELAN. With java included, without java, with external java-application, with external java-application not supported bu sun etc. etc.

I´m using Linux Ubuntu.

My guess is that the ELAN program somehow doesn´t find the mediaplayer from the JAVA-files.
