Selection .eaf project: changed video reference time?

Posted by sumanti at 2008-08-27 15:10

Hi,

I am testing with version 3.6.0; btw nice function of semi-automatic silence recognition. I tried to save selection to new project and when I open the new project again, it lost its reference to the whole video. (New) tier begin at 0 time, refer to 0 time of the whole video. I tried the same thing with version 3.4.0; the same thing happened. I remember that I ever used old version of ELAN for selection project and reference worked good (0 time tier referred to x time (selected) video). Or is it always so, that the reference changed for selection project?

Greetings,
Upiek

Actually I can't remember whether this has ever been different and I can't find in the sources history where or when this change would have been made.
The link to the media file(s) is copied, but the assumption is more or less that the video will be replaced by a clipped version based on the same selection.
This is something that we would like to add in the future, creation of a clip of the video alongside the new eaf.

For the time being you could write down the begin time of the selection and give the video that as an offset in the new transcription (synchronization mode).
