Hi,

As Elan a freeware, I was wondering if it was possible to put the installation files on a Dvd annexing a book, with personal files in order to show how this person is working. Is there any rights preventing this (the question is for the program files of course) ? The aim is to not put a link for where to download it but to provide it for people who don't have the internet.

I don't know if I am at the good place to ask this, sorry if not.

Thank you anyway !

Testtest

Hello,

It is alright to distribute ELAN's installation files on CD or DVD as long as it is for non-commercial purposes. It is advisable to include a link to ELAN's home and download page in addition to the current installers.

We would appreciate to be informed of such publications/re-distributions. Just send an email with author name, title and publisher to software AT mpi.nl.

We are actually investigating the possibility of creating an ELAN version that will run directly from a CD or DVD; although performance will probably be a bit less than normal (especially when the media files are on the DVD as well), for a first time use this would be a friendly option.

Thank you for your quick answer and all these informations, I will send this email as soon it is official.

About this ELAN version able to directly run on a dvd, that was, at first, exactly what we were looking for ! We wait for this option, even if I think this will be too late for this time but for next things it would be great.

Thank you again,

Testtest
An "unzip and run" version of ELAN 3.6.0 is now available on request (and for testing purposes).
