Fastest Way to Transcribe Talk

Hi,<br><br>I've been doing annotation of movements during a conversation, that has been working fine. Now I'd like to transcribe the talk between two speakers and drop it onto a tier below my movement annotations. <br>What is the fastest way to transcribe talk and get it onto a tier?<br>Can it be done in Word or another transcribing program first, then cut and pasted into a tier?<br><br>Liz<br>

One way is to type the text in ELAN's text editor after creating the (aligned) annotations. You can copy and paste if you prefer an other editor.
You could also type the text in e.g. Word, save it as a CSV or tab-delimited text file and import it in ELAN. You then have to align the annotations with the speech signal in ELAN.
