Hello All,<br>I'm encountering a problem establishing parent tier relationships in a new .eaf. Namely, in assigning tier attributes, when I try to assign a new tier to a parent tier, the "add" button goes dead and won't become active again until the tier is once again independent. Then, in trying to do an end run around the system, I've tried to change tier attributes on the tier in question, trying to change it to connect to the appropriate parent tier, but then the "change" button goes dead and I can't do anything until I return the tier to an independent state. Ideas?<br>

Have you created proper Linguistic Types? For a tier to have a parent tier it should be associated with a linguistic type that has a Stereotype other than "None", e.g. Time Subdivision or Symbolic Subdivision, depending on what you want to annotate on the depending tier.
