Unable to set annotation
Hi there,
I have a general problem with ELAN: nearly every time when I want to set a new annotation, either nothing happens or the whole program crashes (ELAN 3.3.0 and 3.4.0).
I thought that the type of video format (.avi) could cause the problem and tried to annotate with different types (.mov,.mpg,.wmv) - with the same (or worse) result.
What could be the problem?

Difficult to say whether it is related to the video format. If you have a file with at least a few annotations you could try by removing the video(s) from the document via Edit -> Linked Files. Then try to create annotations.
Have you tried with different transcription files? Does the same happen with new files? If not, could it be that the document has been corrupted?
Maybe there is some information in the log file. After a crash you may look in the file <user_home>\.elan_data\elan0log (or elan1.log etc.).
