Whenever i try to import files from Toolbox, Elan shows the following error:
Import did not succeed. Unknown error.
java.lang.NullPointerException
Does anyone have any idea what i'm doing wrong?

In most cases this is the result of ELAN's import routine encountering something that is not recognised or not supported.
You may send one of those Toolbox files with associated .typ file to me so that I can reproduce the problem.
That way it might be possible to determine what is going wrong.

I ran into the same error. I solved it by adding these three lines at the beginning of the Toolbox .txt file:
\_sh v3.0 589 Text
\ELANMediaURL file:///D:/<wav file name>
\ELANMediaMIME audio/x-wav
Release of ELAN 4.3.0
