2.2.2. Viewing Remote Corpus Information
There are three different ways for viewing the same corpus/session information.
(1) let your cursor rest above a corpus or session node without clicking. Information about the corpus/session will be displayed in a small window under the cursor,
(2) click on a corpus/session node. Information will be shown up in the left frame,
(3) right click a node/session and choose View Selected. Information will be displayed in a separate window in the left frame.
You can view multiple corpora simultaneously. Hold Ctrl while clicking on various corpora/sessions. Subsequently, right click on any of the selected items and chose View Selected. Information on the selected corpora/sessions will be displayed in one table in a window in the left frame.
When viewing information on multiple corpora, each row corresponds to one corpus, while each column corresponds to one metadata element (data category). By clicking on any of the column names, you can easily organise columns alphabetically within a given table.
You can also add various tree nodes (i.e.. sessions, branches and files) to an already open table. Drag any unselected node from the tree structure and drop it on the table. It will be added automatically to the rows.
Notice that not all the elements of the corpus structure are described in terms of the same data categories. Viewing simultaneously a corpus branch and a session in the same table causes a problem as to the kind of data which is required by either a corpus node or a session node (i.e.. there are data categories that belong to a session but not to a corpus node). Such data fields are marked in grey and are editable (this is also the case in the Local Corpus in Section 2.3).
In some cases you will see that instead of a value in a cell in the table there is a caption: <multiple values>. This means that there is more than one value for this data category for this particular node. To see these values click on <multiple values> and a new windows will pop up with the information shown.
